WORLD SUPERBIKE
WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 10/SEPTEMBER 7, 2014
JEREZ CIRCUIT/JEREZ, SPAIN
P56
has 352 points and eight wins so
far, while Guintoli has 321 points
(two wins), Rea 285 points (four
wins) and Melandri 267 (five
wins).
At 85 points behind with only
100 points available to the one
who wins them all, Melandri is
now almost, but not quite math-
ematically, out. At 67 points be-
hind Sykes, Rea is probably out
of the running, unless both Guin-
toli and Sykes have nightmares.
Guintoli, the man who seldom
wins but is always there, had a
very good weekend in his chase
to Sykes, even with his teammate
tackling his points total hard in
each half of the Jerez game.
But Sykes, the ever-present
and still motivated Sykes, has
31 points of an advantage and
something to fight harder for.
Two rounds, four races to go,
and as Jerez helped to show -
nothing is over yet. CN
