VOL. 51 ISSUE 34 AUGUST 26, 2014 P89
Briefly...
The eastern locale of the Atlanta
round brought out a number of
GNCC Regulars. Kailub Russell,
Grant Baylor, Ryder Lafferty and
Nick Davis also took advantage of
the close proximity to try their hand
at EnduroCross. Sixteen-year old
Lafferty made it through qualifiers to
the Amateur main event aboard his
Airgroup Racing Husqvarna, along
with Nick Davis of the Fred Andrews
Racing team.
Brian Pierce and the crew at Seat
Time produced a live webcast from
Duluth, Georgia. The feed was live at
www.EnduroCross.com, where you
can still watch the main event.
Beta rider Ty Cullins enjoyed a dou-
ble victory in Atlanta, taking the Trial-
Cross class as well as the Amateur
class win.
Taddy Blazusiak's win in Atlanta
marked his 30th career win in a
points-paying AMA EnduroCross. "I
didn't know that, but now I know,"
Blazusiak said. "It's great to get 30,
but I'm not about statistics. Every
single win has a story behind it—in-
juries, training, all the stuff that fans
don't see. But 30 is a good number;
it's going to be a while before some-
body beats me, for sure."
Destry Abbott and crew came out a
day early to put on another round of
their rookie riding school the Friday
before the race. "It was killer," Abbott
said. "We had 13 or 14 riders with us
for the rookie class. I worked a deal
with EnduroCross and we do riding
schools at some of the rounds. If
you're a rookie or if you haven't ever
made a main event, you can come
ride and spend two hours with me.
