MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP, PRESENTED BY AMSOIL
VOL. 51 ISSUE 32 AUGUST 12, 2014 P95
51cc 4-6 Special Limited class,
one of those small-bore classes
where inconsistency is the norm,
McGrath was anything but incon-
sistent. He won all three motos
with room to spare.
Another standout rider was Vir-
ginia's Aiden Eyler who rode off
with the 51cc 4-6 Shaft Drive Lim-
ited Championship. He might not
have won a moto, but his consis-
tent 2-2-2 moto finishes were im-
pressive and enough to win the
number-one plate.
Nicholas Romano, of Bay-
side (Queens), New York, of all
places, dominated the 51cc 7-8
Limited class on his KTM. Under
the guidance of former factory
Honda Team rider Scott Sheak,
Romano looks to have a bright

Bell Helmets handed out $100 to
every holeshot winner at Loretta's.
With 36 classes and 108 motos, that
equals $10,800 bucks that Bell gave
away. Some riders were greedy, with
Timmy Badour, Mitchell Falk and
Chad Murphy all pulling four hole-
shots over the week. RJ Hampshire
had a couple of holeshots, as well.
Former National MX Champion Jeff
Emig qualified for Loretta's and was
scheduled to compete in the Senior
45+ class, but he had to withdraw af-
ter suffering a broken collarbone a few
weeks earlier while riding in Australia.
He's says he'll be back next year.
After finishing eighth in the first Open
Pro Sport moto, Kawasaki rider Tyler
McSwain was involved in a massive
first-turn pileup that also collected
Team Green riders Chris Alldredge
and Nick Gaines. Unfortunately,
McSwain suffered a broken leg in
the crash.
One of the more interesting duels all
week involved Maximus Vohland
and Jeremy Ryan in the 65cc 10-
11 Limited class—Vohland is the son
of two-time 250 World Motocross
bronze medalist Tallon Vohland,
and Ryan is the son of Daytona Su-
percross winner Ricky Ryan. Maxi-
mus and Jeremy went at it every time
they were on the track and finished
within two seconds of each other
in all three motos. Vohland's 2-4-4
edged out Ryan's 3-3-5 for second
overall.
(Left) Jett Reynolds got off to a
rough start but pulled through
at the end to claim two 65cc-
class titles.

Romano (left) has been working
with former factory Honda
rider Scott Sheak and it's been
paying off. Romano swept the
51cc 7-8 Limited class.
