LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 10/AUGUST 9, 2014
UNADILLA VALLEY SPORTS CENTER/NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK

around those guys [Tomac and
Canard] had five or six seconds
on us so I knew it was going to be
tough to catch them and I was re-
ally pushing hard," Dungey said.
Dungey continued to push in
the final laps, eventually getting
around Tomac with four laps to
go. Despite a hard charge in the
closing laps, Dungey wasn't able
to reel in Canard, who took the
moto-two victory by three sec-
onds.
"I give a lot of credit to Trey,
he rode a solid race," Dungey
said. "We came in second but
I secured the overall and made
up some points, too. We needed
that better start in moto two, that
was where it all started."
Roczen finished off the over-
all podium for the first time this
season with 2-4 moto scores and
fourth overall for the day. Roczen
also let another seven points slip
away in the championship battle,
but the 450-class rookie still
holds a seven-point advantage
heading into the final two rounds.
There's nothing to discount from
Roczen's performance, espe-
cially without a solid start, but
there's no doubt that Dungey has
upped the pace late in the game
and it'll be up to the former World
champ to rise to the occasion.
With four wins apiece, Roczen
and Dungey sit tied for the most
wins in the 450 class this sea-
son.
BREAKTHROUGH
Trey Canard has experienced

throughout his professional rac-
ing career but currently third
in the championship standings
with several podium finishes, the
2010 250 Class Champion has
logged one of his most consis-
tent seasons in years. To top it
off, the Team Honda Muscle Milk
rider earned the first 450-class
moto win of his career in the sec-
ond moto at Unadilla.
"I can't tell you how good that
feels," said Canard after his moto
win. "I'm not going to sit here and
