Edwards, who announced
his end-of-year retirement at the
second round in Austin, Texas,
has struggled to get the machine
to work to his liking. His results
have been in sharp contrast to
the strong qualifying and race
performances of teammate Aleix
Espargaro – twice fourth and
only once out of the top 10.

TEAM USA JUNIORS TOP OF THE WORLD

eam USA came
home with
the gold from the
2014 FIM Junior
Motocross World
Championship in
Lierneux, Belgium,
on August 10. After
combining every-
one's scores in the
three 65cc, 85cc
and 125cc, Team
USA came out
on top with Team
Germany claiming
second overall and
Team France third
overall.
However, none
of the American rid-
ers claimed individual champion-
ships, which ended up going to
Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider,
Germany's Brian Hsu, the 2014
European EMX125 Champion-
ship, in the 125cc class. Red Bull
KTM's Kim Savaste captured the
85cc class title and Australian
Jett Lawrence won the gold in
the 65cc class.
In the overall classification,
American Jeremy Ryan finished
out the day on the 65cc-class
podium with third overall, fol-
lowed closely by fellow Ameri-
cans Jett Reynolds in fourth and
Carter Biese in fifth.
In the 85cc class, Conner
Mullennix was the top Ameri-
can finisher in seventh overall.
Garrett Marchbanks and Brock
Papi had problems keeping their
bikes on two wheels on the wet
and slick track, with Marchbanks
ending up 16th overall and Papi
DNFing both motos.
In the 125cc class, Alexander
Frye led the American contin-
gent with 11th overall. Ames was
next best with 16th overall. Both
Frye and Ames crashed out of
the points in the second moto.
Challen Tennant was 19th over-
all.
