wasn't in podium position until he
won the final test of the day.
"In the last test I had the bike
pinned in fifth gear and I was
scared to death, but I ended up
winning the test," said Groemm.
"I was thinking everyone was
beating me so I think that test
ended up moving me up in the
standings."
Grant Baylor and Colorado off-
roader Ian Blythe finished the day
15 seconds behind Groemm, the
two KTM riders tying for fourth
overall. And despite the fact that
Blythe won two tests, tying for
fastest time in tests four and five,
Baylor was awarded fourth over-
all since he had the faster time in
the final test.
Nick Fahringer nursed an in-
jured knee to sixth overall, hav-
ing torn the MCL in his left knee
before the previous round in
Pennsylvania. Having led the se-
ries standings at one point, the
AirGroup Racing Husqvarna now
sits 18 points out of the lead.
"I think I was in the mix early
on, but I went down in the sec-
ond test in that off-camber and
lost some of my momentum,"
said Fahringer. "In the last test
