MOTOCROSS
2014 ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV-MC AMA AMATEUR NATIONAL MOTOCROSS
JULY 29-AUGUST 2, 2012
LORETTA LYNN RANCH/HURRICANE MILLS, TENNESSEE
P86
The Graduate
This year there were a number of
riders going to Loretta's beside
Hampshire who had a shot of
being that top A-class guy, such
as last year's number-one B rider
Aaron Plessinger, Monster Ener-
gy Kawasaki Team Green riders
Chris Alldredge, Colt Nichols,
Nick Gaines and Darian Sanayei,
Amsoil/Factory Connection Hon-
da's Jordon Smith, and defend-
ing 450 A champ Yamaha rider
Luke Renzland.
Despite the stiff competition,
Hampshire did something no one
has done in recent memory at Lo-
retta's and that's sweep two of the
three premier A classes - Open
Pro Sport and 250cc A classes.
In Loretta's three-moto format,
Hampshire won all six motos, but
he had some challenges along
the way. His main rivals ended up
being Renzland and Alldredge,
especially Renzland who nearly
broke Hampshire's win streak
with a strong push late in the third
250cc A moto on Friday.
Hampshire, however, suc-
Austin Forkner
swept the Super
Mini 2 class and
will now move up
to the big bikes.
