MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 9/JULY 26, 2014
WASHOUGAL MX PARK/WASHOUGAL, WASHINGTON
P40
JGR/Toyota Yamaha's Justin
Brayton grabbed the holeshot
to start moto one, but Dungey
was immediately all over him.
Brayton made an error exiting
turn two, just before heading up
Horsepower Hill, and it didn't
take Dungey long to put Brayton
back a spot.
Then Dungey set sail. He im-
mediately dropped two laptimes
in a row in the 2:12s. For per-
spective, only two other racers
even saw 2:13s in the first 450cc
moto—Eli Tomac and Ken Roc-
zen—and they both only did it one
time. Dungey was in the 2:13s or
lower for basically the first half of
the moto.
With Dungey just taking off out
front, Brayton fell back out of the
top five quickly. Honda Muscle
Milk's Trey Canard assumed sec-
ond initially, but it wasn't long be-
Eli Tomac was
hoping to make
it two wins in
a row but this
time Dungey
was too much
for him and
everyone else.
