VOL. 51 ISSUE 30 JULY 29, 2014 P39 I actually woke up, because I'm on Florida time, so I woke up at like 5:45, bug-eyed, an hour be- fore my alarm. I was like, 'Man, this is not good.' But I felt good; felt fresh. Had breakfast, coffee, hung out. Second practice went really good. I made a couple changes in the middle there and ended up with the fastest time and that was nice. I just felt really good going into the racing." They say that you can practice starts as much as you want, but ultimately, the best way to get a good start in motocross is to believe you should be up front. Horsepower helps, too. Briefly... 2:29, 2:33, 2:36, 2:37...all the way to a 2:40 near the end of the race. He stayed out on the track for the en- tire moto to garner 15th in the moto, despite looking very out of sorts. The team stated that Pourcel scared him- self with a couple of close calls, but looking at how his bike was acting in the Washougal whoops heading to the finish line, it seems possible that he had some major chassis setup is- sue in moto two. GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle re- bounded nicely after suffering a scary crash the weekend before at Millville. He ended seventh in the first moto and led the first nine laps of the second moto before crashing and finishing third for fifth overall. "I came in here pretty wounded from a hard get-off last weekend and I wasn't able to ride at all during the week," Bogle said. "My back and side are still limiting what I can do. Two motos, two get-offs, that can't happen if I want to stay up front, es- pecially when you're already banged up." He added that he's definitely looking forward to the one weekend break in the series. Oregon's Matt Bisceglia was hop- ing for a breakout ride at Washou- gal but he had to be satisfied with 13-12 (13th overall) results. "I'm in a slump," the GEICO Honda rider said. "There's no way around it. I'm in a slump and I don't know why. I'm riding a lot during the week, my fit- ness is there, but I just can't get re- sults. This happened to me before at the amateur level and I know it'll end at some point. I also know the only thing you can do is keep after it. After dominating both 250 motos, Marvin Musquin made it a KTM sweep at Washougal.
