With rain forcing the event to be moved from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, the race turned into a closely fought battle for victory between Jared Mees, Bryan Smith and Jake Johnson with Mees ultimately taking vic- tory on his Rogers Racing Har- ley-Davidson. Smith rode the Villa-Esparza/Crosley Radios Kawasaki to second with John- son taking third on the Rams pur Winery Lloyd Brothers Motors- ports Harley-Davidson - making it an east coast sweep of the po- dium. "I got an okay start from where I was at, and really just picked my way through," Mees said. "I think at one point in time I was like sixth or seventh and just kept charging up through. The motor- cycle was grunting off the corner so good. It was awesome. I can't say enough for the team. They deserve all the credit, there's no doubt – Sammy Sweet, Kenny Tolbert – those guys deserve all the credit, all my sponsors for ev- erything, I'm just sitting on it rid- ing it and they're making it easy for me."
