The High Point National winner moved up through the pack in moto one to salvage fifth after getting off to a mediocre start. In moto two, af- ter battling with Trey Canard and Eli Tomac for third, Stewart went down and was forced to retire with a dam- aged motorcycle. Ken Roczen had a scary incident in practice, which caused him to pull off the track. "The bike locked up on me on the takeoff of the finish line jump, which was kind of scary," said Roc- zen. "When I landed it kind of free wheeled and then it did it again, so I pulled off to the side. I turned off the bike because I didn't want to do any damage to it. [My mechanic] took it over and said it was something with the rear brake and he got it fixed." The heat was a factor for some of the riders, but Ken Roczen didn't seem to be fazed by it. "I think since I've been in Florida the last few weeks, I don't think it bothered me," said Roc- zen. "I feel like I've dealt with hotter weather and I was ready for it; I don't fear the heat. It was definitely one of the warmer races, but it definitely helps me out living in Florida." After the race, 250 West Super- cross Champion Jason Anderson says that he still has some work to do when it comes to the outdoors. "I think I adapt to the Supercross tracks a little bit faster than I do the outdoor tracks," he said. "Super- cross is just a 15-lap sprint, which is easier.
