tinued in the big-bike racing, with
Oregon's Chris Alldredge taking
the Open Pro Sport Champion-
ship after a hard fought win over
Amsoil Honda's Jordon Smith,
Honda-mounted Tim Weigand
and KTM rider Sean Collier.
The seven-lap showdown that
decided all the marbles got off to
a disastrous start with a bunch
of riders going down at the top
of the big downhill right after the
start, causing a red flag. All in-
volved got up except for Califor-
nia's Tyler Bereman who unfortu-
nately suffered a broken femur in
the crash.
On the restart, Smith nailed the
holeshot with Alldredge settling
in right behind him. The two set
off in a serious battle for the lead.
For the next seven (of 10 laps),
the two were never separated by
much more than two seconds,
with Smith leading the way.
Late in the race, Alldredge
turned up the heat, forcing Smith
into a mistake when he washed
out in a turn. He got up in fourth
but lost his drive and ended up
