MONSTER ENERGY MAMMOTH MOTOCROSS
VOL. 51 ISSUE 27 JULY 8, 2014 P81
I hit it hard this one time and I felt
it a few corners after that, it just
gave me a [rear] flat. I was going
to try and ride it out but it got to
the point to where I could hardly
ride, so I just pulled off. At one
point, I was all over him then I
made a mistake. I know I could've
caught him but I don't know if I
would've passed him.
"I feel I was the fastest guy all
week; I still won six out of eight
motos and got some champion-
ships, so I'm good," Forkner said.
Cantrell seemed relieved to
get the Supermini 2 victory. "I
got the holeshot and Forkner
was right there pushing his hard-
est and so was I," Cantrell said.
"I needed this win—it's unbeliev-
able right now, to win this race is
unbelievable—to get a Big Bear,
to beat the undefeated kid is just
even better. The last few days
have definitely been tough. I had
my ups and downs, definitely, but
I'm glad I can walk away safe. It
was just a perfect day."
