him for a while to see what he's
got, but then I decided to put it
down the last three laps and try
to run him down. The last two
laps I was able to get right back
on him and I tried to put a move
on him, but I knew he was riding
hard and trying to make up for
what happened in the first moto,
so I knew he wasn't going to be
easy to pass. I came close to get-
ting him a couple of times, but I
think it was good for the team."
Martin's second-place finish to
Webb in moto two was more than
enough to take the overall win,
while Webb finished the day in
fifth overall after a crash left him
14th in the first moto.
Musquin Moves Up
Two-time MX2 World Champion
Marvin Musquin turned in his
best performance of the season
with a 4-3 for second overall. The
Frenchman spent the entire Su-
percross season recovering from
ACL surgery and he's also had to
deal with a minor shoulder injury.
"Second place overall is really
good, and I had a good feeling
out on the track," said Musquin.
"I tore my ACL for the second
time, so it was really tough to get
back in shape to get my knee in
100 percent."
In the first moto, Musquin suf-
fered an awkward incident, which
caused him some valuable time.
"There was a lapped rider in
front of me and didn't expect him
to take the same rut as me and
I hit him and we all went down,"
said Musquin. "I lost my balance
and my foot hit my rear tire and
my whole foot was stuck between
the tire and my swingarm, so I
couldn't go anywhere. I couldn't
get my leg out by myself, so
somebody helped me and I was
able to get back in the race and
I almost got third. I thought I was
going to spend the whole moto
with my leg stuck in my wheel,
but I was able to get going."
Anderson Making Waves
After a rough weekend in Ten-
nessee, Rockstar Energy Rac-
ing's Jason Anderson turned in a
good ride for third overall with a
3-4 moto tally.
In the first moto, Anderson
took advantage of crashes by
Cole Seely, Justin Bogle, and
Musquin.
"Honestly, I had some good
luck come my way," said Ander-
son. "I kind of got third by pro-
cess of elimination in that first
moto, everyone in front of me
kept falling down."
In the second moto, Anderson
was eighth after the first lap and
worked his way into fourth by the
end of the race.
"I rode a lot better and I think
I could have caught Marvin for
second, but I ran into lappers,"
said Anderson. "I know I can
get a win, there are some tracks
coming up that I think I ride well
at. Lately I've been kind of strug-
gling because we practice in Cal-
ifornia; tracks like Elsinore and
Perris, and we don't have ruts,
it is all wide open, dry and hard-
packed. So when I get to these
eastern tracks I struggle, but I
think as I get more time on them
and get used to them it will get
better. I think a win is in my future,
for sure."
Bogle's Bungle
Justin Bogle had the speed to
win but crashes in both motos
Jason Anderson visited the 250
podium for the first time this year.
