LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 51 ISSUE 27 JULY 8, 2014 P51 championship hunt. He could, however, be a spoiler. And then there's Ryan Dungey who got off to a great start to the season with a win at the series opener, but the Red Bull KTM rider hasn't been able to match that performance since, and he seems to be just a tick off Roc- zen and Canard's pace at the mo- ment. Unfortunately for Dungey, it's looking like it's going to take more than just consistency to beat out his teammate for the title. And, of course, there's James Stewart who can sweep any race on the schedule on any given day. After an impressive 1-1 showing at High Point, the Yoshimura Suzuki rider has had nothing but bad luck, not count- ing his troubles and distractions with the FIM. During the first moto at Red- Bud, Stewart had a second-lap run-in with Josh Grant, which put both riders on the ground and tweaked Stewart's front end to the point where he could not continue. Another tip-over at the start of moto two put Stewart at the back of the pack and he was only able to muster a 12 th -place finish by the end of the race. In the 250 class, Jeremy Martin is back on track after a couple of off weekends. He par- layed a 1-2 moto finish into an overall win at RedBud. The Yam- alube/Star Racing Yamaha rider was able to slow down Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett, who's been on fire lately, and extend his lead in the championship chase to 23 over teammate Cooper Webb and 28 over Baggett. >>450 National Kenny Rocks On Roczen seems to be getting better with each race. At Red- Bud he showed he could come Briefly... team on a 450 along side Eli Tomac, where he finished 14th. "I haven't raced professionally in a while but I've been practicing a lot for this chance," Craig said. "It was a good day overall," said Craig who went 14- 14. "I ended up 14th in the first moto with a few of the typical tipovers and mistakes but worked my way up through them. In the second moto, I was going a little better and run- ning 11th but the laps started to wear on me and I ended up 14th again. I learned a lot today about what I need to work on for the next race. I haven't run a National event in more than two years, so today I was focus- ing on learning the bike and figuring out changes that need to be made. I definitely miss racing and have been wanting to get back into it, so I am very lucky to have this oppor- tunity with GEICO Honda. I wanted a top-15 finish, but now I see that I should be top 10. That's my goal in these next three races." The GEICO Honda team is co-owned by Craig's father-in-law, Jeff Majkrzak. Team Honda Muscle Milk brought in privateer Fredrik Noren to fill in for the injured Justin Barcia at the remaining rounds of the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. At RedBud, Noren finished 11th. "I haven't had much time on the bike at all, I only rode it once before this weekend," said Noren. "I went down Roczen gained a bunch of points on his close rivals after winning both 450 motos. continued on next page
