things worked out like we would
have liked," Eslick explained.
"We just didn't have anything
for them this weekend. After the
DNF in Saturday's race at Road
America I knew I had to finish
these races. It all kind of worked
out. We came in 20 points out of
the championship and at the end
of the week we're only 12 back.
So for not having that great of a
weekend we ended up alright."
Eslick went on to explain that
Barber has never been his best
track.
"I've had one really good race
there," he said. "Other than that
it's a place I've struggled at. The
same with Road America - not
that I've struggled, but I really
haven't had a great result there.
So now we go on to tracks that
I know I can do well at and I look
forward to getting up there and
battling with those guys. It's not
much fun riding around more or
less by yourself the whole race.
I want to be up there battling for
the win or at least the podium."

AMA DAYTONA SPORTBIKE SERIES
Briefly...
used to hot weather. It is what it is.
It probably takes a toll on guys who
aren't in the best shape. The Harley
is a lot of fun to ride and it doesn't re-
ally take that much out of me. I think
I did six laps on it before the race. I
didn't do a lot of riding on the Har-
ley, mostly because it was so hot. In
those conditions you try to replenish
your fluids and you're sweating it out
as fast as you're putting it in."
Chris Ulrich was popped twice for
jumping the start in both Superbike
races at Barber. Asked for his re-
action to the 10-second penalties
Ulrich said, "I think yesterday's [Sat-
urday's race] was a little harsh," Ul-
rich said. "Today yeah, for sure, I got
the clutch in and I lurched while the
light was on and then I stopped and
then the light went out. I don't know
what the intent of that rule is, actu-
ally I do – it's to screw up people's
weekends."
Kaleb De Keyrel came off a solid Su-
persport weekend where he earned
his first podium finishes. The 17-year-
old from White Bear Lake, Minneso-
ta, will really test his skills when he
heads to Laguna Seca to run in his
first Daytona SportBike race with his
family run team. "My uncle, my dad,
grandma and grandpa, mom and ev-
erybody are a part of it," De Keyrel
explained. "Two thirds is really good
going into Laguna to race the DSB
race. And then I should have a lot of
confidence from that going into the
Mid-Ohio and New Jersey rounds."
The Laguna DSB round is open
to leading Supersport riders, but
Dustin Dominguez and Hayden Gil-
lim both said they would not be mak-
ing the trip to California. "I'd like to,"
Gillim added. "But it's just too close
to Mid-Ohio for the team to get out
there and get back."
