Stewart's on-the-track body
language alone was enough to
tell that he's back in the groove,
and with a week off to prepare for
Muddy Creek, it could be anoth-
er runaway in two weeks.
Canard Picks It Up
Had it not been for a tip-over in
the first moto, chances are Trey
Canard would have finished sec-
ond to Stewart with a 2-2 fin-
ish. His 4-2, though, was good
enough for third overall and the
Honda rider's first podium of the
season.
After a somewhat disappoint-
ing weekend at Thunder Val-
ley last week, where the Team
Muscle Milk Honda rider failed
to make the podium after set-
ting the fastest time in qualifying,
Canard was much more on his
game at High Point and certainly

he was getting up. According to a
source at Kawasaki, Weimer got
checked out at the track and only
suffered bruises and a nasty gash on
his back, but he was going to go to
his doctor in California on Monday
for a further check up.
The conditions change dramatically
over the course of the day on the
High Point course, going from ex-

were a lot of lines out there, but there
were only one or two that you could
make passes on. The track was real-

train. I had a little bit of a hard time,
because I didn't get off to good starts
and I just couldn't commit, especially
in that second moto. I needed to
commit to make some passes and I
didn't so I needed to be a little more
aggressive."
Chad Reed turned in his best per-
formance of the series with an eighth
overall, however, the Discount Tire/
TwoTwo Motorsports Kawasaki rider
ran out front at the start of both mo-
tos after grabbing two holeshots.
GEICO Honda rider Matt Bisceglia
had a miserable time at High Point and
it started going back before he even
got there. "The weekend started with
one delayed flight, one missed flight,
and one cancelled flight," Bisceglia
said. "I got in really late last night [Fri-
day] and had difficulty getting to the
track today. I missed half of my first
practice, so I had to rely on only one
practice basically. Two laps into the
first moto I crashed and ended up
with a concussion. I was in a decent
