F
our rounds into the Lucas
Oil AMA Pro Motocross
Championship and the se-
ries is starting to take a markedly
different course than it appeared
to be taking when the schedule
kicked off on the west coast.
Rounds one and two saw
an almost total domination by
the Red Bull KTM duo of Ryan
Dungey and Ken Roczen in the
450 class, and in the 250 class,
it was Yamalube/Star Racing Ya-
maha teammates Jeremy Martin
and Cooper Webb going 1-2 at
Glen Helen and Hangtown.
This weekend at High Point
Raceway in Mt. Morris, Penn-
sylvania, two different riders
dominated the two classes, with
Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stew-
art showing flashes of the James
"Bubba" Stewart of old who
swept the entire 2008 motocross
series. Stewart went 1-1 at High
Point to claim his first overall vic-
tory of the outdoor season, and
the first since last year at Spring
Creek when he went 1-3. In the
250 class, Blake Baggett im-
proved on his 4-1 overall win last
week in Colorado by sweeping
the two motos in Pennsylvania.
And while Roczen and Martin
still hold solid leads in their re-
spective classes, the latest wins
by Stewart and Baggett ensure
that the 2014 season will be any-
thing but dull.
