MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4/JUNE 14, 2014 HIGH POINT RACEWAY/MT. MORRIS, PENNSYLVANIA P54 advantage of a slip by Dungey on lap 12 to take the spot for good. Roczen's 2-3 was good enough for second overall, al- though Stewart gained a bit of ground on him in the series standings. "I'll take a second," said Roc- zen. "I was happy with my rid- ing in the first moto, but I actu- ally made a few mistakes. I just kind of made it tough on myself and didn't get good starts, but I bounced back in that first moto and got second. I was hoping for a good start in the second moto, but it just wasn't there." Lappers were a big concern in moto two, and Roczen felt like it hurt his chances of catching Ca- nard. "I was riding good in that sec- ond moto, and about three-quar- ter into the race I started push- ing again," said Roczen. "I got a little bit held up; I don't know how many times I could have dumped that double in the bottom but lap- pers got in the way. There was a gap between me and the guys in front of me, but I could close that quickly and I felt like I could make a move and take off." With four rounds in the books, Roczen leads the standings with 183 points, compared to 167 for Dungey and 161 for Stewart. "I'm still happy with how every- thing is," said Roczen. "It's about keeping it consistent right now for me; not too high, not too low." Dungey In The Hunt Ryan Dungey was in the hunt all day at High Point but gave way to his teammate Roczen near the end of both motos. Dungey pushed Canard in moto one, but a mistake let Roczen go by before the end of the race. The same thing happened in moto two where Dungey spent most of the race in third not far behind Canard, only to tip over and give the spot to Roczen. Other than the opener at Glen Helen, Dung- ey has been unable to get the better of his teammate and right now, Roczen seems to be gain- ing momentum. Fighting The Bug Josh Grant has consistently been at the back edge of the front-run- Dungey chases fast starter Chad Reed, who enjoyed his best performance so far this season.
