LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 51 ISSUE 24 JUNE 17, 2014 P51 and mess everything up. We made an air pressure change in the forks between motos and it made a huge difference." The High Point course got re- ally rutty and fast in the second moto, which made for some pretty hair-raising times for the riders, and if anyone had more "twitchy" moments than anyone else on the ultra fast Bradshaw Boulevard it was Canard, whose Honda "danced" several times, making for some close calls. Amazingly, Canard never let off the throttle. Not Worried With a 16-point lead in the stand- ings, Roczen can afford to pick and choose his battles and de- cide which tracks he "goes for it." And at High Point, the factory KTM rider recognized that Stew- art was on another level. Consistency seems to be the German rider's mantra for the season, and it's that attitude that will most likely bring him a title, that is unless of course Stewart goes on a rampage and starts stringing wins. For most of the day, Roczen and Dungey took turns challeng- ing Canard for second. In the first moto, Roczen got a miserable start, but came from outside the top-10 to work his way up into fourth behind his teammate midway into the race. Mistakes by both Dungey and Canard allowed Roczen to move into the runners-up slot at the end of the race. Roczen's start was better in moto two, and he finished the opening lap in fourth behind Stewart, Canard and Dungey. For most of the race, Roczen and Dungey battled over third while trying to catch Canard, ex- changing the position a couple of times before Roczen finally took Briefly... position around eighth when it hap- pened. I honestly do not remember any of it and still am a little shaken up now. From what people tell me it was pretty bad. Rules do not let you con- tinue to race with a head injury, so I was done for the day. I'm happy to be physically okay, and I really can't wait to get out of here and move on to the next race." High Point Notes: Motocrosser- turned-GNCC racer Ryan Sipes got his motocross fix at High Point. He competed in the 450 class on his Rockstar/WMR KTM and went an impressive 11-15 for 13 th overall… Troy Lee Designs/MavTV/Honda's Mal- colm Stewart suffered a hard get- off in the first 450 moto when he ran into a down bike belonging to Jake Weimer and retired to the pits with a damaged bike. He came back in the second moto and finished ninth… Stewart's teammate Jessy Nelson also suffered a couple of crashes and a DNF in the first moto. The one that put him out of the moto happened at the same spot that Stewart went out; this time Nelson was hit by another rider… Dakota Kessler, Dakota Alix and Dakota Tedder went 17- 18-19 in the first 250 moto… Soaring Eagle/RCH Suzuki's Ivan Tedesco bounced back up after a hard crash in the first 450 moto. He pulled out of the race and did not return for the second moto, saying he's going to see his doctor on Monday for an eval- uation of injuries… After next week- end's first break of the series, the championship will return at Tennes- see's Muddy Creek, also expected to return are a few riders recovering from injury, including Davi Millsaps, Eli Tomac, Justin Brayton, Shan McElrath and Anthony Rodriguez. Roczen (94) had to make some passes before claiming second over- all at the end of the day.
