With three races in the books,
Martin sits atop the 250 points
standings with 140. Webb is sec-
ond with 114 and Pourcel is third
with 93. Baggett's win propelled
the Kawi rider into fourth overall
with 91 points.
Nelson Breaks Away
Jessy Nelson grabbed the hole-
shot in the first 250 moto, and
quickly broke away, leading the
first eight laps before a series of
mistakes dropped the Lucas Oil/
TLD Honda rider behind Martin
on lap nine. Cooper Webb got
him one lap later when he ran
off the track. However, a crash
by Webb on lap 11 moved Nel-
son back into the runner-up slot,
which is where he finished the
moto.
Nelson was way down in 16
th
after the start of moto two, al-
though the Honda rider was able
to work his way up to ninth by the
end of the race for fourth overall,
a personal best for the Califor-
