Ashburn remained calm and collected as he crossed the finish just ahead of the two- time GNCC Champion Whibley to grab the final XC1 podium spot. "I'm disappointed today," Strang said. "I feel like I rode the worst I have all year and I'm lucky to get second. The track was fun, I felt good but tons of mistakes, it's dis- appointing." Ashburn was pleased with third place in the XC1 class, stating, "The last two races I've been work- ing real hard and I'm so close to the podium. I wanted it so bad to- day so I'm happy to be up here." RideMPS.com/AMSOIL/Hon- da's Thad DuVall returned to action after missing the pre- vious round with in- jury. DuVall managed a seventh-place fin- ish in the class as he continues to recover. Factory Husqvar- na's Andrew Delong finished in seventh (in class), followed by HR Motorsports- backed Takeshi Koikeda, and Maxx- i s / K L I M / D i r t W i s e KTM Race Team's Ja- son Thomas rounded out the top 10. In the XC2 Pro Lites class, it was reigning champ Grant Baylor who jumped out to an early lead in the class and actually led the overall race on adjusted time after the first lap of racing. Baylor would continue to pull away from his XC2 competitors as the race went on, ultimately stealing sec- (Above) Chris Bach was a podium contender but one mistake prevented that from happening.
