hrough the first seven
rounds of the 2014 AM-
SOIL Grand National
Cross Country Series, FMF/
KTM teammates Kailub Russell
and Charlie Mullins had split the
overall wins four to three, with
Mullins holding onto a seven-
point series lead despite having
one less win. A dislocated wrist in
a practice crash leading up to the
eighth round of the series would
leave Mullins on the sidelines
and open the door for Russell to
regain the series points lead and
perhaps allow another racer to
get into the mix for a win.
Russell came through with a
big victory at the Wiseco John
Penton GNCC on Sunday, where
pressure seemed all-but visible
for the reigning champ.
