MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 2/MAY 31, 2014
PRAIRIE CITY OHV PARK/RANCHO CORDOVA, CALIFORNIA
P66
former MX2 World champ looked
a little more aggressive and com-
fortable on the Yamaha en route
to 8-3 moto finishes.
"It's a new bike," he said. "I've
been riding Kawasakis forever
and it's not easy for me to get
used to a new bike, but I need
to get used to it. Last weekend,
it was super rough and it was my
first weekend back, I took it easy
and was kind of smooth and I did
what I did. I'm trying to get bet-
ter and not crash, and those two
guys in front go really fast and I've
got to get their pace and get bet-
ter every weekend."
Pourcel has struggled with his
starts since the beginning of the
season, including the first moto
at Hangtown, where he rounded
the first lap in 13th place.
"I was mad after the first moto,
I got a bad start," Pourcel said.
"Like I said, it's a new bike and
it's not easy for me to get used to
it. The bike is so good and so fast
I have a hard time keeping the
front wheel on the ground off the
gate. But overall was a good day
for me." CN
