LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 51 ISSUE 22 JUNE 3, 2014 P59 so far, this could very well be the summer of orange. Seeing Red If there is one rider who has, so far, shown the speed and deter- mination to perhaps break up the orange juggernaut it's Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard. For the second week in a row, the Oklahoman has finished out the day on the podium and, just like at Glen Helen, did so after some pretty impressive riding. Unfortu- nately, bad starts and little mis- takes have prevented him from racing with Roczen and Dungey all the way to the finish. Though he did have a chance in the first moto, when he got off in third Briefly... a pretty big get off as I was reeling in the top-three and it knocked the wind out of me. We've been working hard during the week to be up front on the weekend and we will only continue to progress from here." GEICO Honda's Zach Bell was im- pressive at Hangtown, especially in the first moto when he led briefly in race one. Bell finished out strong in both motos, taking fifth and 12th, placing him eighth overall just ahead of teammates Matt Bisceglia and Justin Bogle in the day's overall standings. "I'm still really excited about my performance, especially in that first moto," Bell said. "It's been a long time coming for me with all of my injuries and setbacks. When you're beat up, it's kind of hard to be in top shape and to be up front in conten- tion, but I'm working on it. I got a nice holeshot (in moto one) and was leading for a while. After a few laps, I fell back to second for a while and then I dropped back to third. I made a few mistakes allowing some guys to get by me, but I rode strong and finished in fifth. In the second moto I missed a shift, so I didn't get a good start. That made the entire race a lot harder because I was playing catch- up. We are going to do some good training this week and work on being more consistent. The first moto really wore me out but it was better than last week. The track today was really rutted out and a little guy like me gets tossed around in the deep ruts." After getting shut out on the start of the first moto, GEICO Honda's Matt Bisceglia steadily moved himself back up to a 13th-place finish. He recorded an eighth-place in the sec- ond moto, landing him ninth overall. continued on next page
