KENDA AMA NATIONAL ENDURO SERIES
VOL. 51 ISSUE 20 MAY 20, 2014 P75
Briefly...
Charlie Mullins reported after the
race that he will join KTM teammates
Kailub Russell and Taylor Robert
to compete at the FIM World En-
duro round in Mexico on July 5-6.
"We are using that race as sort of
a shakedown for this year's ISDE,"
said Mullins. The 2014 Six Days will
be held in Argentina on November
3-8 and is expected to feature similar
terrain as the Mexico WEC.
Craig DeLong ran away with the
win in the Rekluse AA-Expert class,
topping all six tests and finishing six
minutes and two seconds ahead of
runner-up finisher Drew Higgins.
"The first tests were fast and really
suited my style so I was able to build
up a pretty good lead in the begin-
ning," said DeLong. "Once I had the
lead, I was able to just ride a steady
pace and make sure I stayed on two
wheels." After four rounds, Higgins
leads the Rekluse AA-Expert class
standings with 79 points, followed by
Tyler Trammel with 78 and DeLong
with 76.
ISDE veteran Mandi Mastin won the
Overall B division as well as topping
the Women's A/B class.
Over 500 riders filled the overflow
field at this year's Lead Belt National
Enduro, where beautiful weather
made the event a memorable one.
Before the race, the organizing club,
Missouri Mudders, awarded Mike
Lafferty with the "King of the Lead
Belt" Award, commemorating the
five Lead Belt National wins Lafferty
has to his credit out of eight starts.

The day started off well for
Mullins, however, as he got off to
a quick start in test one, turning
the fastest time by over a minute
faster than Husqvarna Factory
Racing's Andrew DeLong.
Test two was more of the
same, where Mullins extended
his lead by another 18 seconds
over DeLong, with Maxxis/Klim/
