would've been able to back it off
a bit and ride more in my comfort
zone. The track was really tough,
kind of dusty, it was deteriorating
really quick, so I was glad just to
make it though and be on top."
Overall, though, the Las Ve-
gas 450 main did not provide
the thrills compared to so many
of the previous 16 rounds, as the
race quickly spread out with the
riders seemingly not willing to
push themselves to the limit on
the sketchy track and with a new
series about to start up in just a
few weeks. With Villopoto taking
the win and Dungey second and
Roczen third, the top three finish-
ing order at Las Vegas was the
same finishing order as the top
three in the championship.
Muscle Milk Honda Team rid-
ers Justin Barcia and Canard
completed the top five at Vegas.
Race For Second
The only real race left going into
the 450 final was the one for sec-
ond place in the championship.
Dungey held an 11-point advan-
tage over Stewart, who was only
six points ahead of Dungey's
teammate Ken Roczen. The

night won his heat race.

the third lap, Stewart suddenly
pulled into the mechanics area
and rode back to the pits with
something wrong with the fork.
It was another disappointing
ending for what was certainly an
up-and-down season for the for-
mer champ. With Dungey taking
second on the night and Roczen
third, Stewart went from second
in the series to fourth in the last
two rounds.
"Everything was going good,"
Stewart said. "But when I hit the
first jump, something happened
to my suspension – I don't know
what happened, so the last two
weekends have been pretty
rough for us. It's nobody's fault,
things just happen, it's a motor-
The top three finishing order in the
450 main was also the top order of
the 2014 Supercross Championship.
