MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
FINAL ROUND/MAY 3, 2014
SAM BOYD STADIUM/LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
P64
said Anderson. "I'm beyond hap-
py."
Yamaha riders Webb and Mar-
tin rounded out the top five, with
Webb holding off Martin at the
finish.
"I got a terrible start because
I flinched and went before the
gate dropped, so I was buried on
the start, but I was able to pass a
lot of guys on the first lap," said
Webb. "I was able to get into
fifth and then Malcolm [Stew-
art] went down and I moved up,
but I made a few mistakes after
that. That rhythm kind of claimed
a lot of guys and I couldn't get it
for about three laps. I closed in
on Anderson near the end, but
fourth is good and the west guys
went one, two, three, four, so it
was a good night for the west."
As for Bogle, the Oklahoman
was never really in this one. He
wasn't feeling well after the East
main and thought about not rid-
ing the Shootout, but he did. He
was running in the top 10 on lap
seven when he got cross-rutted
on jump and went down. He was
okay but he called it a night.
>>450 MAIN
Icing On The Cake
Even though Ryan Villopoto had
already clinched the 450 title
a week earlier in New Jersey,
the Monster Energy Kawasaki
Team rider still rode as though
the championship was still on
the line. He made a risky last-
lap pass on Muscle Milk Hon-
da's Trey Canard to win his heat
race earlier in the night and flat
out dominated the final, passing
holeshotter Jake Weimer on the
first lap before running away with
another impressive win, just like
his other previous wins at New
Jersey, Seattle and Houston.
Villopoto's only challenge at all
was Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dung-
ey who got into second early on
but never got close enough to re-
ally be a real threat.
"Getting a great start and
getting an early lead made my
life easy," Villopoto said. "But
Dungey kept me honest there
for a while. If he wasn't there, I
Martin reeled in
Bogle for the East
main-event win.
