a little push, but I got tight and I just pretty much
stayed in second," added Tomac. "The first 10 laps
clicked for me, I had a couple of spots under my belt
where I could make those passes."
GOOD START, GREAT FINISH
Soaring Eagle RCH Suzuki's Josh Hill finally got
the start he's been looking for all year and he put
it to good use en route to a third-place finish, his
first podium since finishing second at Anaheim III
in 2010.
Hill crashed in his heat race and had to qualify
through the semi, which he won over Josh Grant
and Ben Lamay.
In the main, Hill nearly grabbed the holeshot but
Villopoto was able to sneak by on the inside, leaving
Hill in second, which is where he stayed until lap five
when Eli Tomac finally passed him.
Hill was extremely happy afterward.
"This is where I expected to be all year," said Hill.
"It just comes down to starts and I just haven't been
getting them, but tonight I did.
"I was in second after the start and I just tried to
stay on RV's rear tire for as long as I could and that
lasted about three or four laps. Then Tomac got

around me and I just tried to ride the best race
I could. I was taking some bad lines until Tomac
got around me, and then I just tried to calm my
nerves and look for good lines. I started to get a
little worried about Dungey and Barcia. It seemed
like laps nine to 12 I started losing ground to those
guys, but I just kept ticking off laps."
Jeff Friese was
also a first-
timer on the
250 podium.
