WORLD SUPERS TO MALAYSIA
T
he World Superbike paddock
is very keen on the idea of go-
ing to Malaysia to race, but few
are so keen on having a stand-
alone flyaway round in June, and
the promise that it will be a sum-
mer event for the duration of the
three-year contract.
Sepang circuit CEO Dato' Ra-
zlan Razali explained why it had
to be June. "We have the date in
June because in the first quarter
of the year we have F1, then in the
fourth quarter we have MotoGP,"
he said. "So we told Dorna that it
was not feasible for us to do ma-
jor events in the same quarters.
That left two other quarters, but
the third quarter for them was not
feasible. So the only time was
the second quarter. Even so we
have to take into consideration
the religious month, the fasting
month, so this date is just before
the fasting month. Next year the
fasting month is moving forward
so we may move the race a bit
later next year. We will discuss
that probably at the end of this
year, whether it should remain
at that time, but more or less it
should be in quarter two or quar-
ter three."
There will probably be some
extra time available for testing at
Sepang, but most likely on Friday
- as happened at Laguna Seca
last year.
Acknowledging that putting
Sepang just after the Phillip Island
opener would be problematic,
Dorna WSBK Organization Series
Director Daniel Carrera stated:
"Sepang was difficult, but there
are other possibilities we are
working on to have one race after
Australia and avoid this big gap
between Australia and the first
round in Europe. We had some
talks with Kawasaki and they have
a circuit, but it is not ready to be
homologated. But we have proj-
ects for overseas for 2015. I can-
not tell you the names yet. India
not yet as we are facing still prob-
lems. We have a contract still in
place but not for 2015."

will be coming for 2015.

T
he Metisse VCR 1200 is another
bike in the Metisse CR family of mo-
torcycles designed by Horst Edler. The
basis for the bike is the Harley-Davidson
XR1200, but this one has been trans-
formed into a retro-looking Classic Racer
done up in red, white and blue.
