Cole Seely kept his title hopes
alive by taking his second win of
the 250 West Supercross Series.
The TLD/Lucas Oil Honda rider
passed Monster Energy/Pro Cir-
cuit Kawasaki rider Dean Wilson
on the opening lap and then rode
away to the win ahead of a fierce
battle for second between points
leader Jason Anderson and Jus-
tin Hill.
Like Villopoto, Seely suffered
a bad start in his heat and had
to start the main from an outside
gate pick, but the Honda rider
was able to make a few good
moves in the first turn and come
out behind Wilson after the start.
Seely rode a strong and con-
fident race even though Hill and
Anderson kept the Honda rider
honest for most of the race.
With the win, Seely gained
three points on Anderson, but he
still needs to make up an eight-
point deficit at the series finale in
Las Vegas.
"I had to start pretty far outside
and I got a decent start, then I
was able to make a little pass
on Dean and was able to hold
onto it," said Seely. "I could feel
a little pressure behind me, but I
just tried to hold my composure.
It feels good to gain the three
points, although I was hoping to
gain more, but I would never wish
anything bad on Jason. I really
want to win this championship,
but I had some problems this
season. But it's any man's game
now, so we'll see what happens
in Vegas."
