SUPERCROSS
2014 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
ROUND 15/APRIL 12, 2014
CENTURY LINK FIELD/SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
P60
Dungey followed Villopoto for
three laps before Stewart was
able to go by on lap four. From
there, Dungey lost ground to the
two front-runners and spent the
rest of the race trying to hold off
a hard-charging Eli Tomac, who
was having one of his best races
of the year.
"I was right behind Villopoto
and he started inching away,"
said Dungey. "And then Stewart
got around me and he started
inching away too. I'm happy with
the night, but it's give and take,
sometimes you have a rougher
time at certain tracks than oth-
ers. We tried a lot of stuff today,
which isn't ideal, but we had to
look around for a good setup,
and with being out of the cham-
pionship chase, we have to keep
looking for stuff for next year,
too. As a rider, I have to show up
too, though, so it was just one of
those nights."
Tomac seems to be back to
where most people expected him
to be at the start of the season.
The GEICO Honda rider trans-
ferred directly into the main with
a fourth-place finish in his heat
and then got a decent start in the
main, finding himself seventh at
the end of lap one. From there,
the Colorado rider eventually set-
tled into fourth where he tried to
Justin Hill (35) and points leader
Jason Anderson (17) go at it. Despite
a number of mistakes, Anderson
finished second in the 250 main.
