MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES VOL. 51 ISSUE 14 APRIL 8, 2014 P37 bad. I came in the bus and just tried to sit and recover. "I had a good heat race, got a decent start and was able to pass for the lead, but by the second lap I was just done - had no en- ergy and was really weak. We de- bated whether or not it was safe enough to race, but I wanted to. I got an okay start, got up to fifth, and then just salvaged everything I had. You can see it in my face, I'm exhausted, I just have no en- ergy. But it was good, we moved up second in points. Considering how bad I feel, fifth isn't too bad – better than not racing. I have to get healthy and try to get three Ws [the last three races]." Like Villopoto, Muscle Milk Honda's Justin Barcia also start- ed well and avoided the first-lap melee. He held on to finish sec- ond at the checkers. Toward the middle of the race, Barcia closed in on Villopoto a bit, but it was only for a lap or two until Villopoto Briefly... seen in the pits on Saturday at Hous- ton, professional golfer Ricky Fowler. He has long been known as a moto- cross fan and rider. "I'm down here getting ready for the Shell Houston Open and thought I'd come out to see some friends and some good racing," Fowler said. "I love it and watch it whenever I get a chance." BTOsports.com/KTM's Matt Goer- ke is said to be out for three to four months with a dislocated elbow. "His elbow is messed up and they had to put a prosthetic joint in there to help with the healing," a team member reported. "He'll be lucky to be at the last couple of Nationals, and we don't really have a fill in rider on our radar at this time either." Being back on the 250 after running several events out east on the Mus- cle Milk Honda factory 450, Cole Seely said that it was another great experience that he would never turn down. "The fill in gig was awesome and when Honda calls, you don't say no," Seely said. "Generally, if they call, it means that another rider got hurt, which I'm not ever looking for, but I wouldn't say it helps me on the 250, it's more of a showcase for me for next year and teams looking for 450 riders."
