Strang didn't get a good jump
off the line, so he chose to hang
back through the opening turns.
Strang quickly pushed his way to
the front and even caught Mul-
lins in the second-place position
near the end of the six-lap race.
In somewhat of a flashback fash-
ion, Mullins and Strang battled
closely into the final turns of the
Steele Creek course but this time
it was Mullins who crossed the
line first. Strang's third-place fin-
ish bumps him into third place in
the championship standings.
"It took a while to get going
out there," Strang said. "The last
couple of laps felt pretty good. I
caught up to Charlie on the last
lap but I just couldn't get by him.
But all in all it was a good day.
Podiums are always nice but it's
been two years since I've won a
GNCC, I'm ready for a win!"
