ARENACROSS
AMSOIL ARENACROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
FINAL ROUND/MARCH 29-30, 2014
ENERGY SOLUTIONS ARENA/SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH
P108
standing last year. He was sec-
ond overall at Salt Lake with 2-4
main event finishes and his first
ever podium.
"This is my first Arenacross-
class podium," an excited Stein-
ke said. "I've been on this tour for
a few years now and I'm pumped
to be up here. They even inter-
viewed me for the Fox Sports TV
show!"
Motosport.com's Mike Mc-
Dade had a rough year, going
from fourth overall last year, to
ninth this season. Team Babbitt's
Monster Energy Amsoil Kawasa-
ki's rookie Colt Nichols rounded
out the top 10 and even had a
main event win in Greensboro,
North Carolina, back in January.
A&J Oilfield Services Gray
Davenport clinched the Lites
West championship with a sec-
ond in the main event Saturday
night. Only one point separated
himself and BWRengines.com's
Kyle White coming in. Davenport
grabbed the holeshot and led for
a while until Team Faith's Kelly
Smith passed for the lead and
win, but Davenport held on for
second ahead of White in third
and won the title with only two
points to spare.
"It feels good to win this title,
this is awesome," said local boy
Davenport from the podium as he
accepted his number one plate
from the AMA. "I took a few years
off and to win it here in front of my
friends and family feels great." CN
