AMSOIL ARENACROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 51 ISSUE 13 APRIL 1, 2014 P107
ed. "Our bikes are dialed and we
do a lot of testing with Pro Circuit
and it's all in the preparation. I
only have a year-to-year deal, but
hope to be back on this program
again."
Tuf Racing Ti-Lube Honda's
Kyle Regal was a newcomer to
the sport of Arenacross this year,
but he adapted pretty well, cap-
turing one win in Milwaukee back
in January. He had 4-3 main
event finishes in Salt Lake and,
in the end, he finished fourth
overall. Regal has always been
known as more of an outdoor rid-
er and somewhat even in Super-
cross, "The series totally caught
me off guard I and had no idea,"
Regal explained. "It's completely
different than Supercross. You
can throw a top-10 guy from there
in here and they won't adapt to it
as fast as these guys do. The se-
ries is run good and has a lot of
good guys in it. The tracks were
good this year and better than I
first thought. If I come back, I'll
take it more seriously and try to
win this thing."
But he also admitted that he
wants to race Supercross next
year and may not be back even
though he did well in the series in
his first year.
"I finished fourth in the cham-
pionship and it was better than
I thought I would finish," added
Regal. "But I rode smart these
last 10 races and got like eight
out of 10 podiums, so I'm pretty
pumped on that. I just really
played it safe tonight and didn't
want to do anything dumb. I got
a deal for Supercross for the last
four rounds this year and want to
prove myself in there again to try
to get a deal for next year. If not,
I'll come back here and be way
more prepared than I was here
this year and see if we can get
a little closer to that champion-
ship."
Farmer's Insurance Reynard
Mod's Cory Green finished
the series in fifth. The Oklaho-
man went 6-8 at Salt Lake and
reached the podium three times
throughout the series and was
quite consistent as well. Ohio's
Willy Browning was sixth overall
and Woodstock KTM TZR's Tra-
vis Sewell was seventh.
Privateer Gared Steinke was
eighth overall, an improvement
of two spots on his 10th-place
