Of the many classes, perhaps the most talked about at Free- stone was the hotly contested Pro Sport division, where Ohio- native and Rockstar Energy/Star Racing Yamaha's Aaron Pless- inger, and Rock River Yamaha/ Triangle Cycle's pilot Keith Tuck- er claimed the 250 and 450 A- class titles, respectively. Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki's Chris Alldredge was the favorite, having dominated the racing ac- tion the week before at Oak Hill, and he proved he had the speed in both classes at Freestone to get the job done. But things didn't quite go Alldredge's way this time. Alldredge was challenging Plessinger for the first-moto win in the 250 A division, but a me- chanical failure ultimately led to a disappointing DNF. Later in the week, after win- ning the first two 450 A-class motos and with one moto remain- ing to decide the championship, Alldredge's storybook ending of a 1-1-1 sweep resulted in more disappointment. Once again, a mechanical problem took him out of contention.
