I
t was another busy week of
motocross racing in Texas, as
some of the country's top ama-
teur motocross talent converged
on the pristine Freestone County
Raceway in Wortham for the 4
th
Annual James Stewart AMA Free-
stone Spring Championship (aka
JS7 Championship). For many of
the young racers and their fami-
lies, the Freestone event capped
off three long and hectic weeks
of intense amateur racing that
all got started at the Ricky Car-
michael Daytona Amateur Super-
cross before heading to Texas for
the Oak Hill GNC MX final and
the JS7 Championship.
More than 1300 entries were
filled out at Freestone, and all
of the racers were going after
just 46 class titles that were up
for grabs. Some came away with
more than one crown while oth-
ers went home with none, but
perhaps more important than
going home with metal, all came
away with valuable racing experi-
ence, tired muscles, a good time
