SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES ROUND 11/MARCH 15, 2014 FORD FIELD/DETROIT, MICHIGAN P78 TICKLE TURNAROUND After finishing fourth at Daytona the week before, RCH Soar- ing Eagle Suzuki's Broc Tickle backed up the performance with a solid fifth in Detroit, although he had to come from behind to do so. "I think I was around ninth on the first lap, and tonight was rough, it was really demanding, and hard to go fast on, it was so slippery," said Tickle. "I struggle with the "peristyle" section, but I was good everywhere else." Late in the race, Tickle pulled within striking distance of Barcia, and gave the Honda rider a good battle, although he was unable to make a pass. "I was trying to get Barcia ev- erywhere and I almost got him there in the last corner, but I just missed him, but I'm still excited about my race," said Tickle. "I usually ride pretty good in this stuff, I just needed to be a little more aggressive in the beginning of the race." Like Short, Tickle has been moving up the 450-class order over the last few weeks and he credits his team for the success. "I'm really comfortable on the bike and we made adjustments when we needed to, so I feel like we are making good progress each week," said Tickle. "These guys give me so much support and I think we will be able to maintain these good finishes for the rest of the season." 250 EAST MAIN The 250 SX East Regional main event was pretty much a replay of the opening round in Dallas, where Martin Davalos grabbed the holeshot and led until crash- ing out, allowing his Monster En- ergy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team- mate Adam Cianciarulo to take the lead and eventual win. Davalos lost the front wheel on the slippery Detroit surface on lap three, handing Cianciarulo the lead ahead of an aggressive Justin Bogle on the GEICO Hon- da. "I was sticking pretty close to Ryan Dungey kept his title hopes alive with a third-place finish. He trails leader Villopoto by 30 points.
