anny Eslick started his
season off with a bang in
Florida by earning pole posi-
tion for the Daytona 200 on
a sunny Friday afternoon in
Daytona Beach. In giving Tri-
umph its first pole position at
Daytona since Brit Paul Smart
did the deed in 1971, Eslick
was rewarded with a Rolex
Daytona Cosmograph.
BOWERS BREAKS OUT IN TEXAS

yler Bowers had a breakthrough ride
in the Amsoil Arenacross Champion-
ship at the State Farm Arena in Hildago,
Texas, March 14-15. Bowers, on the Bab-
bitt's/Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki,
won all four of the Arenacross-class main
events over the weekend, putting him in
sole possession of the Race to the Cham-
pionship lead with three rounds to go. It
was Bowers' ninth and 10
th
overall victo-
ries of the year.
Bower's strongest performance of the
weekend came on Saturday night when
he led all but one lap over the course
of the night. On Friday night, Bowers
claimed the win over PBR/TiLube/Tuff
Honda's Jacob Hayes and Kyle Regal,
and on Saturday night over Regal and Co-
rey Green (Farmers Insurance/Reynard
Performance Mods Suzuki).
In the Race for the Championship,
Bowers now leads Hayes by 18 points and
third place Zach Ames (Babbitt's/Monster
Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki) by 27 points.
KTM riders Frontier Lubricant's Daniel
Blair and Team Faith/Fly Racing's Kelly
Smith each came away with a win in the
Arenacross Western Lites main events.
Blair got his win Friday night and Smith's
Saturday night.
