ROCKY MOUNTAIN MC WORLD OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, PRESENTED BY MOTOWORKS AND DIRT BIKE MAGAZINE VOL. 51 ISSUE 11 MARCH 18, 2014 P107 Bonds, on the R&D Motors- ports' Kawasaki, got off to his worse start of the season in the back of pack, so instead of lead- ing the majority of the laps to only have an issue in the end like he had to deal with the last two races, Bonds was faced with an uphill battle. "Yeah we finished one, just not to where we wanted to finish it," Bonds said. "It's a good step in the right direction. To give those guys a minute head start from the get-go, you're just digging your- self a hole and it's hard to get out of." Bonds was up to the chal- lenge, however, as he picked off racers with each passing lap, and after one hour of battling, he charged his way into the second spot and began to reel in Suther- lin, but with the race shortened by 15 minutes, he ran out of time before the checkered flag. But he still secured a season best second place just over 30 sec- onds behind Sutherlin, which was a step in the right direction for Bonds who has led more laps than any other pro racer, but has yet to take a win. Dietrich, who used the race to get in some training for the upcoming outdoor motocross Nationals, was looking to leave with a win, but he went down two times, which dropped him back to fourth. He made another run late in the race and finished out Too many of these kept former WORCS champ Ricky Dietrich from getting a possible win. Bobby Bonds had a bit more luck this time but had to come from way back to finish second.
