OFF ROAD KENDA AMA NATIONAL ENDURO SERIES ROUND 1/MARCH 2, 2014 PELION, SOUTH CAROLINA P82 Where Am I? Eight-time National Enduro champ Mike Lafferty held down third for most of the race before getting lost in the fifth test and losing nearly two minutes. The incident dropped the FMF/KTM rider down to fifth for the day. "I'm pretty bummed I got lost in that test," said Lafferty. "I felt real- ly good all day and was definitely in the running for the podium. It's so hard to know that I didn't get on the podium because of a sim- ple mistake. The good news is I know where I stand speed-wise and I am going to be fighting for podiums at the next round." In the meantime, Steward Bay- lor, who had been battling with Lafferty all day, took advantage of Lafferty's misfortune to claim the final podium spot. Welcome Back Baylor The Sandlapper marked Baylor's first major race since suffering a wrist injury over a year ago. "My wrist was pretty sore throughout the race and I jarred it a few times, but I am happy I was able to get some good results in the final few tests. I came on strong at the end and was able to find my way to the podium," said Baylor. "This was kind of a test day, we are just doing our homework and getting back in the groove. We were changing clickers and just feeling things out, but we should be ready for the next round in Texas." Fourth For Fahringer Fourth went to AirGroup Rac- ing Husqvarna's Nick Fahringer, who entered the race having only received his new race bike, an FE300, on the day before the race after switching from Husa- berg during the off-season. Fahringer struggled to get comfortable on the bike and then discovered after the race that the problem was a broken fork. "I got some valuable points and I'm healthy, so I'm good with fourth, I've never really had good luck here," said Fahringer. "I didn't get my bike until a few days ago
