ey as long as I could, but I start-
ed making mistakes, thinking too
much, and dropped back."
ALESSI VERSUS TICKLE
Things got a little ugly in the sec-
ond 450 heat race when Mike
Alessi cleaned out Broc Tickle
in a turn. Alessi had just been
passed by Tickle when the two
came into a tight right-hand turn.
Tickle went wide, railing the out-
side of the berm, while Alessi
dove to the inside, just clipping
an inside course marker. It ap-
peared that Alessi had enough
room to finish off the turn on the
inside, but instead went straight
into Tickle, who was already exit-
ing the turn and hard on the gas,
taking both riders out and into the
semis.
Tickle wasn't happy about it,
but Alessi said that he didn't do
it on purpose. He claimed it was
simply a racing incident.
"I was trying to pass him and
we got together," said Alessi. "It's
water under the bridge now."
Not according to the AMA it is.
(Above) Justin Bogle (36) got on
the 250 podium. He leads Jeremy
Martin (19) in a heat race.
(Right) Wil Hahn finished a strong
fourth in the 450 main.
