There was some controversy
after the race about a pass that
Justin Barcia put on Ken Roczen
over one of the triples en route to
his third-place finish. Midway into
the main event, Roczen attempt-
ed an aggressive pass on Barcia
in a turn after the whoops, and
Barcia was able to hold Roczen
off. Then, when the two riders hit
the triple, Barcia did a big whip,
which put his rear wheel close to
Roczen's face. But what didn't
look good for Barcia was that he
also looked over at Roczen at the
same time. Roczen was furious
after the race and said that he
thought the move was too dan-
gerous.
"I don't know what the heck he
pulled off on that triple, he could
have taken both of us down," said
Roczen. "He's definitely an idiot,
something's not right in his head
sometimes. I don't know what
the heck he does to himself, but
he should watch out for the rest
of us, we're all racing and, of
course, we all have to ride hard,
but block-passing someone on
the triple for show is not cool."
