VOL. 51 ISSUE 5 FEBRUARY 4, 2014 P21 The Dragster gets MV's top- level electronics and the Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control (MV- ICS) that uses three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Rain) and a map that can be customized by the user; there're also eight levels of traction control and the bike also gets Bosch ABS as stan- dard equipment. It also gets the anti-wheelie system that comes on the other models that use the 800 platform. The Dragster's powerplant sits in a steel trellis frame and gets a single-sided swingarm. The new MV will also feature a 43mm up- side down Marzocchi fork and a Sachs rear shock and Brembo brakes on both ends. The new Dragster is short with a wheelbase of 54.3 inches (the same as the standard Brutale) and it gets a nice fat Pirelli Diablo Rossi II rear tire. The bike will come in two color combinations – white and matt metallic grey. It comes with a price tag of 13,490 Euros ($18,185). The new MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster was shown for the first time last week. PHOTOGRAPHY BY SCOTT HOFFMAN SIMONCELLI HONORED M arco Simoncelli will be in- ducted into the Hall of Fame as a MotoGP Legend, Dorna an- nounced on Monday. The popu- lar former 250cc World Cham- pion was a front-runner in the premier class before tragically losing his life to an accident in 2011. In becoming a MotoGP Leg- end, Simoncelli will join 20 other greats already inducted in the Hall of Fame. The Italian rider dazzled the World Championship paddock with his charisma, ability and racing style and was a World Champion, having taken the 250cc crown in 2008 - a title he narrowly missed out on defend- ing in 2009. After arriving in the premier class in 2010, his progress was rapid and before his untimely death Simoncelli had already taken two premier class po- diums and two poles in his second season of MotoGP. Simoncelli's introduction as a MotoGP Legend will take place at this year's Ital- ian Grand Prix at Mugello, as he joins the list already including compatriot Giacomo Agostini plus Mick Doohan, Geoff Duke, Wayne Gardner, Mike Hailwood, Daijiro Kato, Eddie Lawson, Anton Mang, Angel Nieto, Wayne Rainey, Phil Read, Jim Redman, Kenny Roberts, Jarno Saarinen, Kevin Schwantz, Barry Sheene, Fred- die Spencer, John Surtees, Casey Stoner and Carlo Ubbiali. Marco Simoncelli will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a MotoGP Legend. PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE
