MILLSAPS HOPING FOR HOUSTON
D
avi Millsaps was on hand
at Anaheim III, cheering on
his Rockstar Energy Racing
teammates Ivan Tedesco and
Jason Anderson, and hoping
that his injured knee will recu-
perate in time for him to make
his 2014 debut at the Houston
Supercross on April 5.
Millsaps suffered the knee
injury in December – just eight
days before the series opener
at Anaheim I – while prepar-
ing for the 2014 season. It was
an injury that's kept Millsaps off
the bike for several months,
prompting the team to bring
in Tedesco to fill in until Mill-
saps' return.
Millsaps told Cycle News
that he expects to be back
on the bike in four weeks and
he's hoping for a return to the
series at the Houston round.
The idea, according to Mill-
saps, is to get a few Super-
cross races under his belt be-
fore the start of the outdoor
series.

KING OF THE MOTOS: WEBB AGAIN!
C
ody Webb conquered one
of the most gnarly, extreme
enduros in North America for a
second straight year on Sun-
day, the Beta rider winning the
King of the Motos event in Lu-
cerne Valley, California.
For 2014, the King of the
Motos changed up its format
to include a day of qualify-
ing and two separately timed
loops on race day—the second
even more difficult than the
first, which really separated
the men and women from the
kiddies.
Webb's win was definitely
not a cakewalk as Taylor Rob-
ert bested Webb's time on the
first loop by over a minute. But
on loop two, Webb was able to
stretch out to an early lead while
Robert, Colton Haaker, Gra-
ham Jarvis, and Kyle Redmond
swapped the runner-up spot the
entire time. Haaker, however,
was docked for missing a check
during the first loop and was not
scored in the overall. The final
order based on the combined
quickest times from both loops
was Webb, Robert, then Jarvis.
Some of the other top riders
that had issues included Cory
Graffunder, who nursed his
bike to the finish after a mas-
sive oil leak and Kailub Rus-
sell, who did not finish the sec-
ond loop.
Of the 80 riders who started
the day, just over half finished
the entire course during the al-
lotted checkpoint closing times.
Only two sportsman riders and
one team finished the entire
course before the 5 p.m. finish
line closing time.
Scott Hoffman
Cody Webb won the treacherous
King Of The Motos event for a sec-
ond successive year on Sunday.
Davi Millsaps is hoping to
return to action at the Houston
Supercross on April 5.
