RJ HAMPSHIRE'S BIG WEEK >>>

Honda's RJ Hampshire has had a very good 2013 season racing in amateur ranks, but he admits that he has
pretty much come out of nowhere as of late. "I mean,
I was fast on mini bikes for a couple years, and then I
got hurt a bunch and then started playing baseball for a
while in high school," he said. "Last year, I started taking
moto seriously again, and I dedicated everything to it
and worked hard. I hooked up with Timmy Ferry and
then started winning stuff. Some sponsorship started
coming in and that helped out huge.
"I just won my 10th championship here in 2013 after
never winning one before, so it's been good."
And what are RJ's future plans?
"I'm not real sure yet," he said. "I recently signed with
Amsoil/Factory Connection Honda and we'll be doing
the Spring Nationals for them in 2014 and hopefully I
can get an opportunity to move up to the GEICO Pro
team.
"For now though, I would say I'll probably turn pro
after Loretta's and just train and be ready for that, but
we'll see."
