then once the banner drops, it kind
of lights the fire under your butt. Everything changes," he smiled. "The
dirt was so good, you can't help but
pin it!
"I just kept it wide open and hung
it out to get out front real quick; everything was kind of coming together for me today - I was feeling good.
"Me and Jacob had a lot of fun
out there, actually. We were going
back and forth, and I was following
him for a while. We got lost a couple
times and I'm like, 'It kind of sucks
to follow you!' because I wasn't paying attention to the ribbon. We got
a little twisted going out onto the
second loop and I had a little spill.
I fell back to fourth at that point and
it kind of threw me off my game a
little bit.
"After that, it lit the fire under my
butt and I refocused and was able
to pass back up to first going into
the third loop. Then Jacob got me
about mile 85 and I was trying to get
him back and I made a right corner
and just folded my rear brake pedal
underneath my cases so from then
on I was like, 'I'm just going to finish now.' It made it tough to go down
the downhills!"
"I got a good start, for once!"

sixth to the bomb. I was able to battle with Skyler [Howes] and Justin
and Nick for a long time.
