Briefly...
After the race, Taddy Blazusiak
talked about how he dealt with the
pressure of being tied with his teammate going into the final round. "I've
won a couple of championships in
my life, so I know how to deal with
pressure," said Blazusiak. "I've been
riding under pressure the last six or
seven years, so I know how to deal
with that. Both Brownie and I are
champions and know how to deal
with pressure, we know how to get it
done, so tonight it was all about trying to get ahead of the other guy."
Cory Graffunder had one of the
quickest times during the afternoon
Hot Laps but was later DQ'd, giving him poor gate pick going into
the evening's program. "I fell off the
rock section and I did what I thought
was best," he said. "I didn't pin it
and raced back onto the course,
I slowed up and took my time and
kind of entered right at the end of the
rock section. Their argument is that
I potentially could've crashed by going through the rocks, so they basically put me last, which put me on
the back row of the heat race, which
isn't a good place to start the night."

said. "I didn't feel good all week because we lost Kurt [Caselli, a close
friend of his who was killed the week
before in the Baja 1000]. He was
basically my mentor and taught me
everything I know about racing and
riding basically. I met him when I was
18 and didn't know anything; he just
took me in and taught me everything.
He was one of my best friends and it
