The JCR Honda team, meanwhile, was somewhat beat up
afterward. Kamo had a shoulder
injury, Udall had a sore knee and
Weigand was still recovering from
a concussion that he suffered a
few days earlier while pre-running. He would only ride a short
stint at the end of the race. Even
Samuels wasn't 100-percent.
The team nearly didn't finish
when Udall went down in the later
stages of the race, damaging the
bike's wheel.
"There is a cattle guard across
the race course and I had to slow
down," Udall said. "I've been
through that cattle guard 10 times
racing over the years, but this
course was backwards. Normally
